Data Night Operator

SUMMARY

Operates keyboard or other data entry device to enter data into computer or onto magnetic tape or disk for subsequent entry by performing the following duties.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. 

 

11:00am  Until Finished will all shift duties:

 

NSF Notice:  Prints NSF notices and processes on mail machine.

 

Incoming Fed Return Cashletter:  After proof has prepared the incoming Fed cashletter the night operator will capture, repair, balance. 

 

Logs proof item totals in Excel spreadsheet and gives to VP Data Operations on 1st day of each month and ensures that proof tapes and logs are filed nightly.

 

Item Processing (electronic and paper):  Responsible for processing all POD items from all locations.  After Remote Capture Clerks have keyed all items the night operator will compare all run and item counts from the locations. Completes posting extract, verifies totals and item count is correct.  Uploads file to

AS/400, verifies totals again, and corrects any invalid entries.

 

End of Day Processing:  Once all proof work has been captured, repaired, balanced and uploaded to the AS/400 steps are taken to prepare for end of day processing.

 

Reports and documents are given to the accounting for reconciliation purposes each night after processing.

 

Statement Processing:  Process/import and mail all statements.

 

Completes all other steps after end of day:  Archive Pinpoint reports, runs query reports, etc.

 

Should follow Data Processing Daily Log to complete all steps for daily and end of day processing.

 

Backup Tapes:  All backup tapes are delivered offsite to the Rogers (ANB3) location each day.

 

Assists with limited Fedline activities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
