As a Database Designer you will create logical and physical database designs that support client/business objectives. Support/monitor the creation of the physical data models. Analyze content and quality of databases and provide data denormalization approaches. Develop and implement standards for data naming and data base design. Work closely with the Information, Application and Technology Architects to help analyze the impact of the proposed information/data architecture: Consider the fit to the existing and future database architectures; Define load, frequency and recovery requirements; Identify potential pitfalls and make recommendations for proposed feeds/information sources, extract, transformation and load process & timings; Define logical schemas based on logical grouping; and Determine & document estimated size of data.

 

You will work with Information Architects to create logical data models: Create logical entities and define their attributes; and define relationships between the various data objects. Design physical data models and generate initial Data Definition Language

 

Qualifications

 

  * Experience/advanced knowledge of logical and physical database modeling concepts and techniques

  * Experience creating logical entities and defining their attributes as well as defining the relationships between the various data objects.

  * Experience designing physical data models and generating initial Data Definition Language.

  * Experience defining load frequency and recovery requirements

? Experience with database back-up, recovery and archiving strategy.
