Director, Product Development-Card
A challenging and dynamic position exists in our fast paced Business Development Department for a Director, Product Development ? Card. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice-President, Strategic & Business Development, this position will lead the overall project management and product development of the growing Jackson Hewitt prepaid, debit card programs, ipower? card. The ipower? card programs experienced 20% growth in 2006. Our growing, publicaly traded retail service company is looking to expand upon this growth.
Responsibilities:
Strategically lead the further development of the ipower? card strategy to meet the Company?s overall objectives.
Translate the strategic direction into a project plan and projected economics.
Explore other business development initiatives.
Develop an overall project plan outlining the program goals, strategy, resource requirements, deadlines, risks, and potential contingency plans.
Coordinate with multiple internal resources (Marketing, Technology, Financial Products etc.) to assign tasks and ensure completion of assignments within the project plan to various project personnel.
Management of relationships with external partners (card issuer etc.) to ensure partners meet the project timeline.
Direct handling of certain project activities to ensure project progresses on schedule.
Establish measurement standards and procedures for periodic project reporting.
Communicate project status to Senior Management and facilitate key discussions on progress and potential project issues.
Initiate and perform on-going evaluation of existing program performance and initiatives to determine necessary product enhancements/changes.
Present recommendations to Senior Leadership regarding the Program.
Supervise and direct staff.
Qualifications:
Bachelor?s Degree in Business with a concentration in Marketing, Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Minimum 8 years of experience in consumer credit/debit card industry or equivalent.
Minimum 6 plus years of project management/product development experience, preferably in the consumer credit/debit card industry.
Excellent communication, management, and teamwork skills required.
Ability to work effectively with all levels of management.
Strong follow up skills to drive project results are required.
Sense of urgency to handle multi-projects in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to travel 10-15%.
Proficient in Microsoft office.
