Economic Analysis Manager

Position Description:
The Economic Analysis Manager will assist with the capital allocation process and financial evaluation of investment opportunities. The Manager will work closely with the senior leaders at the operating segment level. The position requires a self-directed, organized individual who possesses exceptional financial analysis skills and is comfortable presenting ideas to senior management. Knowledge of key strategic and financial concepts of the gas and electric distribution industry is strongly preferred. The ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels in a professional manner is also an essential part of the job.

 

Essential Responsibilities: Assist during the capital allocation process for NiSource, including analyzing specific capital projects and on-going analysis of variance to budgeted information Act as liaison between the operating segment, management, and corporate with regard to capital investment proposals Work with appropriate representatives of Corporate Planning, Accounting, Treasury, and Tax to validate assumptions used in models and determine impacts of proposed investments Assist with strategic/financial analysis on proposed acquisitions, divestitures, and special projects Evaluate and document existing capital budgeting processes Assist with transition processes and residual responsibilities pertaining to acquisitions and divestitures

 

Position Requirements: 4-6 years of experience with financial analysis, modeling, and valuation are essential Experience analyzing credit ratios and performing risk analysis MBA and/or CPA Presentation skills Project management skills Ability to interact with all levels within the organization A travel requirement of 5%-15%

 

Preferred for selection: Experience in an investment banking or consulting environment M&A analysis experience Experience in utility and energy industries Statistical analysis skills Sense of urgency and ability to work non-standard hours/days when required
