Job Summary
The Financial Analyst is responsible for the development and delivery of product, member, and delivery channel profitability information to support recommendations pertaining to product lines, member relationships, delivery channels, pricing and member value.
Essential Functions:
Provide ongoing analysis of each product, service, and delivery channel to determine member value, profitability, utilization and continued feasibility.
Analyze products and delivery channels based on agreed upon metrics and strategies.
Develop and deliver financial insight and understanding regarding profitability and cost for new and/or existing products and services.
Participate in the development of recommendations for modifications to the Credit Union's pricing and/or product structure.
Provide financial stewardship to the product and delivery channel management team that enhances their understanding of the financial implications of their actions.
Design and deliver customized ah-hoc reports that will facilitate financial accountability and ensure that decision making is consistent with the maximization of member value.
Provide support in the development and delivery of information necessary to meet the product & delivery channel decision-making needs of senior management and department management.
Maintain the ABC model and integrate the ABC data with transactional data to support the development of product, member relationship, delivery channel, and member value-driven recommendations and initiatives.
Develop of business driver and performance metric information, and facilitate the flow of that information between the business units and the activity based costing model.
Maintain a working knowledge of the accounting and ?Peer to Peer? systems.
Develop and delivery of product, member, delivery channel, and member value-driven recommendations and initiatives.
Evaluate effectiveness of new programs and projects.
Skill Requirements
Proficient PC skills (Microsoft Office, Access, database mgmt), including PC utility programs, with the ability to learn new software.
Excellent conceptual, organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
Good oral and written skills to effectively communicate in the English language.
Ability to work independently, and as a team member, while using discretion in decision making and sound judgments in problem solving.
Good interpersonal skills to ensure issues are handled in a fair and consistent manner.
Effective leadership skills.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of BECU's Employee Handbook and Management Reference Manual.
Education/Experience Requirements
B.A. or B.S. degree in accounting, finance or economics or equivalent work or educational experience required.
Minimum four to five years related financial analysis experience required.
CPA/MBA preferred or continuing education towards CPA/MBA requirements.
