Senior Financial Analyst - Segment Reporting
This key position will contribute to the management reporting and financial performance measurement function at Countrywide Financial Corporation and its various lines of business. The candidate will develop an understanding of all the business units of the Corporation and financial models/tools to perform economic profit analysis.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Supporting the development, implementation, and rollout of risk-based profitability measurement and management reporting across the organization.
- Developing and implementing a management reporting system that analyzes economic profit by business unit, product, channel, and customer.
- Coordinating with business partners and performance measurement teams to create and refine methodology for accurate profitability reporting inputs, including Funds Transfer Pricing, Activity Based Costing, Risk Weighted Capital, and Loan Loss Reserves.
- Enhancing reporting to streamline process, improve data flows, refine methodologies, and incorporate new organizational, product, and channel structures.
- Coordinating business highlights and analysis to support management reporting and external segment reporting.
- Networking with senior management and other departments as an advocate for profitability measurement, reporting/forecasting standards, and methodology development.
The successful candidate will have:
A degree in Finance and/or Accounting.
3-5 years financial analysis/management reporting experience.
- Strong financial and technical skills, including ability to build/automate macros in Excel and Access.
- Experience with complex management reporting systems and EPM platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to respond to multiple priorities, complex tasks and process issues concurrently.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and staff.
An ideal candidate may also possess:
- CPA/MBA.
- Previous Funds Transfer Pricing/Activity Based Management/Economic Capital experience.
- Previous experience within financial services industry.
