Job Purpose: 

 

Provide personalized service to members by developing relationships that will attract, maintain, enhance and retain member relationships.  To further enhance these relationships through the cross- selling of products and services to meet all the members? financial needs. To know the detailed features and benefits of all products and services available and present them in a professional manner.  To set an example through communication and appearance and professionalism.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

1. Utilize department service and greetings standards with all clientele.

 

2. Sell all deposit and lending products, as prescribed in goals.

 

3. Provide prompt service and minimize delays by immediately acknowledging the members.  Stand, greet each member with a smile, offer handshake and use of their name during conversation, or if on the phone, speak with a smile and use the member?s name.  Thank the member for their business at the close of service.

 

4. Dress and communicate in a manner that projects professionalism at all times.

 

5. Effectively make presentations to members on all deposit and loan products in an understandable manner. This requires extensive knowledge of all deposit and lending products and services.  Ability to analyze member?s financial needs and effectively cross-sell products and services.

 

6. Assist members in opening all checking, savings and certificate products and provide members with dividend projections by the use of the system calculation form, being able to manually calculate dividend projections.  Must be capable of negotiating rates within guidelines when necessary.  Maintain understanding of account ownership.

 

7. Handle all member transactions as requested.

 

8. Assist members with lending needs through loan interviews.  Maintain an understanding of all lending policies and procedures.  Use the loan application to process all loan requests according to the lending guidelines set forth by the Credit Union.

 

9. Handle and work referrals from the front-line within 24 hours.

 

10.  Resolve member concerns or objections effectively the same day or if more time is needed update the member on status.  Ability to explain all entries on statements.

 

11.  Be a positive role model for staff to follow.  Adjust to work environment and/or priorities of the Credit Union by demonstrating a willingness to accept additional or varied responsibilities.  Demonstrate leadership skills to direct others when required.  Rotate among branches as needed or assigned. 

 

12. Support Credit Union in all initiatives with a positive attitude and willingness to get the job done.

 

Qualifications:

 

? Must have a minimum of 2 years prior Credit Union or Financial Services Industry Experience, preferably in new accounts and product sales.

? Prior Sales and Customer Service Experience

? Prior Cash Handling Experience

? Experience in Lending

? Proven sales/service abilities and able to make professional presentations.

? Must have excellent communication skills.

? Comprehensive knowledge of new account functions.

? Comprehensive understanding of all loan products, including mortgages, collateral, and DMV.

? Ability to effectively handle loan interviews.

? Ability to effectively handle member?s objections and concerns.

? Ability to multi-task and use good time management skills.

? Emanate professionalism in appearance, communication and listening skills.

? Must be PC literate and have the ability to use Word and Excel and Windows.
