Human Factors/Usability Engineer

BS/BA in Industrial or Product Design, Interaction Design, Human Factors, or a related area of study*
3+ years experience specifying, prototyping, and designing for one
or
3+ more web sites (portfolio required for interview)*

Expert knowledge of Windows, Motif, Apple and other user interface style guides* Excellent organizational and presentation skills*

Working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and various web browsers Utilize various techniques (e.g., customer visits, interviews, surveys, & focus groups) to derive initial user experience requirements, Develop user profiles and assist in Use Case development, Create sample designs, including page layout, interaction elements, interaction flow, information architecture, and local / global navigation, Develop prototypes (sketch prototypes, interactive prototypes, etc.) to illustrate and test proposed design, Present design proposal to business and development; integrate feedback, Work with usability team to prevent or identify, and correct usability problems, Create and maintain user interface design specifications (detailed documentation of interface design, including aesthetic guidelines and screen-level interactions and business rules), Work with other user interface designers to develop consistency across multiple sites, Provide guidance to developers regarding how to implement the proposed design, Create HTML code and cut graphics for final screen designs, Conduct reviews of industry best-practices and UI trends, Establish relationships with external design vendors
