Job Purpose:

This position is responsible for the daily/monthly reconciliation of ledger accounts for external investors with which Harris interacts, including general ledgers and DDA custodial accounts, along with accurate and timely reporting and remitting to these investors.

Process remittances and balance reports received from servicers from whom Harris has purchased mortgage loans, including application of payments and payoffs, reconciling reports to our internal systems and reconciling those systems to general ledger and DDA.

 

Knowledge & Skills:

Candidate must possess prior documented experience and knowledge in reporting to investors including the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp and the Federal National Mortgage Association, with a minimum of 3-5 years of investor accounting experience with Freddie and Fannie Mae portfolios as well as with private mortgage investors. Candidate must be well-versed in general investor accounting processes, policies and procedures.

Must possess extremely strong balancing,reconciling and analytical skills and be able to handle more complex accounting issues with guidance. Must be extremely organized, detail oriented and possess strong oral, written and presentation skills and be comfortable in interactions with executives and internal/external auditors. Must be able to work independently as well as a member of a larger team. Candidate should be expected to use broader accounting, reconciling and governance experience to assist in handling other department accounting issues as directed by the manager.
