Jr Application Trading Floor Support/VBA

RESPONSIBILITIES The objective is to be part of the team based in NY in charge of the operational and application support of the commodities trading activity.
This involves:
- day to day support of the trading applications
- listening and understanding users needs
- ability to analyze functional issues using traders and IT teams expertise
- ability to understand the functional architecture of the system in order to to be able to modify its setup or propose enhancements
- ability to develop small applications using VB or VBA to answer short terms needs
- ability to work in an international IT organization (mainly Paris and NY) as well as with local users

TECHNICAL SKILLS
Required/Must have:
Windows XP, Excellent general IT culture, Networks/Protocols, web, Relational Database Management Systems good knowledge and SQL language, VBA
Desired/Plus:
Visual Basic 6 / COM, MSMQ, .NET (C# or VB) MS .NET framework,

BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE
Desired/Plus:
US natural gas and power financial and physical markets.

COMPETENCIES
Required/Must have:
Dynamic, Motivated, Very good capacities of communications. Ability to work under pressure. Ability to work in an international and distributed support team environment.

Desired/Plus:
Ability to read and speak French.

PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE
Required/Must have:
6 month experience in trading activity support

EDUCATION
Required/Must have
4 year Bachelors degree ? computer science

NOTE
2 to 4 weeks training in Paris will be required initially
