MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES: We are seeking a detail-oriented, team player to support a high volume mortgage origination office in our Elgin location. The successful candidate will provide mortgage loan support, assist Home Lending Officers, Branch Manager and customers.
Responsibilities will include working with mortgage loan applicants, assembling loan packages, managing the daily operations of the loan applications and providing overall assistance to the office. This will include examining mortgage loan files for accuracy and completeness, analyzing mortgage documents to ensure underwriting criteria is met, coordinating and facilitating any follow up necessary regarding pending or open issues involving a mortgage loan file, answering customer inquires regarding Bank loan policies, interest rates, appraisals, commitments, closing fees, etc, and insuring the highest level of service is provided by effectively communicating all internal operating policies and procedures of the Bank. When necessary the successful candidate will contact brokers, builders and realtors to initiate, develop and maintain good mortgage business and relationships. The successful candidate will also provide office support which includes answering telephones, handling accounts payable/receivable, and assisting with marketing initiatives, mail, and supplies/inventory control for the office.
QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a High School diploma and 1+ years experience working in a mortgage lending or financial services environment pre-qualifying, reviewing and analyzing mortgage loan documents. 1+ years residential mortgage loan processing experience is required (A paper mortgage processing experience strongly preferred). Proficiency with MS Word & Excel, ACT, LP and C3 knowledge preferred, attention to detail and good organizational skills, excellent oral and written communications skills, ability to work in a deadline oriented and team environment. Candidate with proficiency (both verbal and written) in the Spanish language strongly preferred.
