Manager Business Operations / Finance & CFO Advisory
Our client a global leader in professional service and risk management advisory, is seeking an experienced and accomplished financial services controls and business process manager to join their profitable and expanding Financial Services Advisory Practice. This practice provides integrated market, credit and operational risk management; operations improvement, business integration, and strategic cost management; and regulatory and treasury advisory services to financial institutions and other capital markets participants. The Financial Services Advisory Practice Teams work together to coordinate the delivery of risk management, regulatory and business performance services to a variety of clients, including commercial banks, investment banks, broker-dealers, asset managers, insurance and energy trading companies, and other organizations.
The Business Operations Advisory Team helps clients better align their organizations? operating infrastructures with their strategies. We have a broad range of capabilities to assist clients? operational improvement, profitability management, finance function activities, and business integration. Professionals focus on the assessment and redesign of business, risk, and control processes and the refinement of operating models. The goal is to support clients? efforts to make their business units more effective and efficient and, where required, provide services in connection with the remediation and mitigation of process risk. This team also provides analysis of specific business requirements for alignment with technology architecture, technology infrastructure design, and vendor selection decisions.
Responsibilities
? Lead a team of professionals in providing client service directly to the CFO and Finance executives within world class financial institutions.
? Develop and maintain productive relationships with client management throughout the year while establishing expectations of value to be delivered.
? Advise clients on a variety of business process services that help identify, assess, manage and measure the risk exposure in organizations. These may include: Finance Function Strategy (Execution and Alignment), Roles and Responsibility, and other Finance Risk and Control Process Improvement,
? Research and apply emerging industry trends, regulatory guidance, and best practices.
? Critically analyze the policies, procedures, people, processes, and systems used by financial institutions to identify, assess, measure, monitor and control significant issues or risks.
? Recommend modifications to client infrastructures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes and risk management programs.
? Design and implement quality, practical business approaches.
? Provide advisory support to technology selection, architecture, and infrastructure design.
Requirements
? 5-8 years of relevant experience with front, middle or back-office processes and systems within a financial institution (commercial banks, investment banks, broker-dealers, asset management, insurance) or professional services firm ( Big 4 / Big 5 )
? Experience with the design, development and implementation of internal controls for financial services business processes.
? Basic understanding of accounting, regulatory and compliance concepts prevalent in banking and other financial institutions
? Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing and client presentations
? Analytical skills; specifically, the ability to assess and decompose financial services industry processes utilizing a risk and control focus
? Effective leadership, project management and teamwork skills
? MBA preferred
