Marketing and Brand Manager

Location: Marketing, Vancouver
FLSA Status: Exempt, salary
Compensation: Commensurate with skills and experience
This position is responsible for coordinating the Bank?s advertising and brand management functions. It also works closely with the Public Relations Specialist and Product Development Manager. Directs the activities of subordinate staff and works closely with the department director to develop budgets, policies, and procedures. Has day-to-day oversight of the Bank?s advertising agency and marketing consultants. Utilizes experience-based knowledge and formal training to develop marketing and promotions programs which allow the Bank to remain competitive and profitable. Creates and implements techniques and materials that will project favorably the Bank?s image and goals. Assists in developing products, services and programs that are competitive and consistent with sound business practices. This position directly supervises employees within the Marketing Department, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization?s policies and applicable laws.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. To include other duties as assigned.
? In consultation with the Bank?s Marketing Director, develops short and long term goals, objectives, and priorities for the Bank?s marketing, advertising and market research functions in support of the Bank?s strategic and operating objectives.
? Researches, conceptualizes, creates and implements marketing and public relations programs that will promote all services and products and favorably project the Bank?s image and goals.
? Develops programs and policies which enhance the brand image and strategy of the Bank and its products and services.
? Ensures the maintenance of a consistent and professional brand image through uniformity in advertising, signage, graphic treatment and design.
? Participates with and provides expert support to the Marketing Director in the development and implementation of business development procedures and activities.
? Develops, implements and administers policies and procedures for the Bank?s advertising and marketing functions.
? Manages the development and maintenance of promotional programs that help to sell financial products and services through advising and directing the design of promotional products, programs and campaigns, working with Retail Services for implementation.
? Manages any overall advertising agency projects and activities, ensuring that standards and time-lines are met.
? Oversees the timely production of media materials such as brochures, annual reports, customer newsletters, press releases and the internal production of graphic materials to support individual branch promotions and participation in community events.
? Maintains a wide variety of contacts within and outside the Bank, coordinating marketing activities, promotion services, exchanging information, and representing the Bank at civic and trade functions as well as professional organizations.
? Continually reviews journals, articles, publications and other material to be apprised of regulatory and legal changes pertaining to the marketing functions in order to keep abreast of new developments and to ensure that departmental policies and procedures comply with all applicable regulations.
? Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
? Financial/Banking marketing experience required.
? BA/BS or advanced formal training in appropriate discipline and relevant professional experience.
? At least five (5) years experience as a successful marketing and/or brand manager, has gained the necessary experience and product knowledge to develop effective marketing and advertising strategies in support of organizational goals and objectives.
? Demonstrated understanding of pricing theory, media buying and marketing communication management techniques.

? Ability to discern graphic clarity and creativity in evaluating products and services provided by advertising agencies and to communicate with agency personnel about expectations and related quality issues.
? Ability to organize projects, priorities and time management.
? Critical level of attention to detail.
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
? Computer literacy, specifically with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and data entry abilities.
