Mortgage Loan Underwriter/Processor

Hawthorne Credit Union is looking for an organized, detail-oriented individual to underwrite and process all its originated mortgages, while working well internally with all customer sales and service contacts.

 

This candidate will be required to:

1.  Maintain compliance with all internal policies and guidelines for mortgages at the credit union.

2.  Responsible for the daily underwriting, approval, or denial of mortgages and process them until close/funding.

3.  Maintain mortgages on internal systems.

4.  Support the credit union?s strategic plan through direct sales, service, and business development efforts.

5.  Develop new mortgage products or service as needed to meet market conditions.

6.  Support any, and all origination efforts and the Mortgage Originator.

7.  Work internally with Accounting and Finance to ensure proper accounting of mortgage origination income and expenses, and finally set the price for mortgages daily.

 

Minimum requirements and qualifications:

1.  Two to four years in financial services experience in mortgage underwriting and Two to four years of mortgage processing experience

2.  Four year college degree, and a solid verifiable experience with mortgage relevant regulations.
