Operations Officer

Operations Officer Spherion, in conjunction with one of the world?s leading financial services providers, seeks an Operations Officer to manage all hedge fund operations and middle office support for single manager funds, separate accounts and fund of funds.  Manage two VP directs and 9 staff.  Operations functions supported include: trade capture and communication, OTC derivatives processing, reconciliations, security master, pricing/valuations, and corporate actions for fund of funds and separate accounts. Middle office support includes P&L reporting, manage vendor relationships, monitor service levels, evaluate controls, identify and manage service issues, manage systems, control, and efficiency projects independently.  Manage/own prime brokerage relationships, central contact for client reviews including presentation of all operations capabilities to current and potential investors.  Participate in outbound fund of funds due diligence activities.

 


Requirements:

? 7+ years of previous experience in managing hedge fund operations or related (e.g., prime brokerage services)

? 5+ years of previous staff management experience

? Strong understanding of OTC derivatives, complex securities including distressed debt, prime brokerage relationships and hedge fund constructs

? Previous project coordination and project management experience. Proven ability to manage large scale projects with successful results

? Proven ability to independently define appropriate operating models and adjust staffing and functions as the business requires

? Strong understanding of trading and accounting/portfolio management system functionality.
