Project Portfolio Analyst
Position Summary:
DATA COLLECTION - Works with project portfolio management staff, department managers, and project managers to collect, analyze, and disseminate project information. Applies appropriate metrics and tools for project control. Administers a repository of project data, using project portfolio management tools. Maintains accurate records of committed, expended and forecast costs and monitors organizational project costs for management reporting.
PORTFOLIO ANALYSIS ? Uses Microsoft Project Server and other tools to analyze the impact to the existing portfolio of changes in active projects or the addition of new projects. Helps to identify strategies for accomplishing all of the desired projects. Develops timely, accurate, in-depth analysis of organizational cost and schedule data. Provides corrective action recommendations.
REPORTING - Develops queries and reports to facilitate decision-making. Analyzes and solves problems with production views.
SYSTEM ADMIN - Performs system administration activities for software that is deployed for project and portfolio management including setup, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of access privileges.
SUPPORT - Provides assistance related to creating project lifecycle deliverables and performing project execution and control activities, including cost, schedule, measurement, and forecasting and variance analysis. Develops and delivers training programs related to project management.
METHODOLOGIES - Assists with the research and development of methodologies and practices for all aspects of program and project management (initiation, evaluation, prioritization, resource allocation, and portfolio management) so that consistent approaches are used throughout the Bank. Updates those methodologies and practices as industry standards and the Bank?s environment change so that they are current, resources are optimally utilized, and project delivery is highly effective.
TOOL - Supports the evaluation and implementation of project management tools. Recommends and implements improvements.
INTERNAL CONTROL - Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure safe and sound business operations. Establishes change control practices and supports segregated development and production environments.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor?s Degree or equivalent work experience.
Three years of work experience managing enterprise-wide projects.
Experience in work planning, schedule management and scope management to monitor critical path activities, deliverables, milestones, and inter-project dependencies.
Analytical expertise to enable identification, synthesis, and leveraging of relevant information across a portfolio of projects.
Experience developing reports or presenting management information clearly and concisely.
Project portfolio management experience with proficiency in program management tools, techniques, and processes as well as current practices, theories and approaches.
Work experience in a project management office or in implementing or using MS Project Server preferred.
Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
