QA Engineer

Highly motivated strong QA Engineer for a Fortune 100 in Manhattan

Description:

The QA engineer will be working with on-shore and offshore development groups, QA testers, Business Unit representatives, Operations group and FID Derivatives Systems managers to develop and execute test projects. The QA engineer will be responsible for reviewing functional & business requirements, developing test plans/test scenarios from understanding of requirements, executing test runs, reporting results and interacting with teams to resolve issues with the applications under test. As a technical QA tester, the QA engineer will become the subject matter expert (SME) for understanding the application infrastructure/flow beyond the GUI level, developing/maintaining test and test tools (e.g., shell scripts, diff scripts and SQL queries) as required to test the application for stability, performance, data integrity and other test types in addition to business functionality testing.

Skills Required:

Testing Skills 4+ years of testing financial applications is required. Experience with GUI and backend testing is required. Experience testing distributed systems is required. Experience with QA process and knowledge of test automation tools and their application to the testing process is required. Computer/Technical Skills Experience working in a UNIX/Linux & Windows OS environment. Experience writing test programs using UNIX shell scripting and/or Perl programming. Experience with SQL, Sybase/Oracle is required. Excellent verbal and written skills are necessary

Skills Desired:

Experience with QA process and knowledge of test automation tools and their application to the testing process is a plus. Credit derivatives, confirm/settlement process or other financial services experience is a plus. Professional QA certification is also a plus. Experience with Java, C++,.NET development environment is a plus. Knowledge of MQ Series and XML is desired. Experience with QA process and knowledge of test automation tools and their application to the testing process is a plus.
