Quant Trading Firm seeks a SQL Server DBA/Developer

 

Company is a renowned preeminent quantitative investment firm, managing $20 billion in U.S. equities for a select and sophisticated institutional clientele. Company is growing quickly and is using .NET technology to build faster systems able to find market ineffiencies and then generate trades that will help take advantage of these profitable opportunities.

 

The DBA candidate should have at minimum 3 years of experience as a DBA and as a Database Application Developer with 3 years specific experience with Microsoft SQL Server production database. The candidate should have good customer relation, technical writing, and communication skills. Familiarity with financial/investment data and M.S. degree/candidate in computer science preferred.

 

 

Candidates must be able to work directly with professional systems and investment staff to collect and interpret requirements and deliver products that meet their needs. The successful candidate will be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Requirements:

 Administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company database. Implements data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes; resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues. Strong SQL and stored procedures and understanding of high level programming and software development life cycle by using Visual Studio or .Net. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; reporting to a senior systems professional. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
