Multi billion $$ rapidly growing regional bank group seeks sales and marketing change agent. This manager provides effective sales culture leadership to achieve profitable expansion of retail services and to provide effective delivery of retail services for NW Indiana region. Provides overall administration of assigned region and provides sales culture leadership to sales managers and retail lenders in assigned region to achieve stated goals and objectives for profitable expansion of deposit, retail lending, financial and fee services to support overall Bank goals and objectives.
*Develops short term and long range sales goals for individuals and branches annually in conjunction with budgetary process; implements effective tracking and measurement system to record sales performance and business development attainment versus stated goals for assigned branches and managers; communicates results to management and sales managers; conducts sales training and meetings; implements programs designed to recognize, reward and motivate employees within budget constraints for assigned region
*Participates in the marketing activities for the assigned branches; develops an acute awareness of competition's products and services; monitors changes in region's market share; recommends business development programs and campaigns to achieve stated strategic and budget goals for profitability and growth; develops and maintains business development
*Develops, implements, reviews and revises systems to measure, quantify and assess product service and quality provided by the sales region; recommends revisions of systems and/or operating procedures to control and insure the distribution of the highest quality products and services; recommends new products or variations to existing products to satisfy evolving market demands, expand customer base, improve services delivery and/or reduce operating costs; and continually reviews and evaluates the distribution/service facilities and makes recommendations for changes or improvements designed to enhance image, correct functional obsolescence, or improve market penetration
Responsible for attainment of individual sales and performance objectives in expanding retail lending and deposit services for assigned region
*Promotes the expansion of retail services and cross-sales other financial services, primarily focusing on large depository accounts to develop new business and/or maintain goodwill, increase or retain existing business and service accounts in conformance with business development goals; seeks out new prospects, both individual and business; joins with sales managers and retail lenders to make business development calls on large or influential accounts
Participates in all bank promotions, sells and cross-sells products and financial services, participates in community organizations and projects, and conducts relationships in a manner that will enhance the overall image of the bank
*Actively participates in bank promotions by selling and cross-selling various products and financial services when dealing with customers and prospects; actively participates in community, civic and philanthropic organizations/projects so as to enhance the bank's visibility and promote a positive image; commits and supports participation on committees, teams, task forces, and in special projects; and presents a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times
Provides administrative guidance in the areas of budget, policy, procedures and compliance
*Keeps informed of laws and regulations affecting deposit and retail lending activities and ensures that sales staff is properly trained and informed; implements existing deposit and retail lending policies and ensures conformity and compliance; provides security orientation for new hires within assigned branches; and oversees and coordinates facilities management for assigned branches
*Develops an annual operating budget for the assigned branches which is consistent with the bank and corporate strategic plan goals and objectives; and recommends pricing structure, rates, projected growth and staffing requirements
*Serves on Committees as assigned or required
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages assigned branches, primarily by supervising through others, to prepare budgets, performance measurement analysis and implement policies and procedures for assigned region. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned branches and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Interviews, hires, and trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; rewards, motivates and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems; serves as primary mediator/communicator between branches, operations and senior management. Also is responsible for driving the sales and sales efforts through branches within assigned region.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university plus five years related experience and two years sales management experience is preferred.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/AGREEMENTS
Candidate will obtain a valid life license within 6 months of acceptance of the position. Re-certification and continuing education must be completed to keep licenses current.
RELATIONSHIP/COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Requires high-energy sales and management ability, strong relationship skills, above average verbal and written communication skills and effective listening skills. Also requires the ability to provide assistance to sales efforts of sales managers and retail staff and to effectively identify, explain and obtain acceptance of concepts which may involve controversial issues or represent significant change.
ANALYTICAL SKILLS
Position requires the ability to analyze financial data and investigate new approaches to determine trends or achieve specific objectives or goals. Also requires the ability to evaluate alternative methods, concepts and ideas of others, and to revise or modify such ideas for the purpose of recommending or integrating them within assigned branches.
