Risk Management Investigator

 

Bellco Credit Union is the largest credit union in Denver, with 14 branch locations in the Denver metro area and over $1.5 billion in assets.  We are currently seeking a Risk Management Investigator for our Risk Management team. 

 

This position is responsible for the investigation of fraudulent, illegal, or improper activities by employees and/or members of the credit union and the prevention and recovery of losses caused by such activities.

 

We require a minimum of 1 year consumer lending experience, with thorough knowledge of standard credit and credit underwriting practices OR minimum of 1 year loan auditing and review experience OR minimum of 1 year of collection experience OR minimum of 1 year security monitoring experience.

 

Job Duties include:

 

?  ?  Conducts investigations of investigations of fraudulent, illegal, or improper activities that could cause losses to or claims against the credit union.

 

?  ?  Acts as a liaison to local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies on matters relating to fraudulent, illegal or improper activities.

 

?  ?  Develops, reviews, recommends, and implements policies and procedures to detect and prevent the occurrence of fraudulent, illegal, or improper activities.

 

?  ?  Develop cases for criminal and civil prosecution

 

?  ?  Use Visual Case Files Software to track the status of fraud claims, including restitution payments, suspect identification and recovery efforts.

 

?  ?  Educates credit union employees in other areas with regard to identifying and responding to potential or actual security violations situations.

 

?  ?  Determines the quality and level of asset risk of Bellco?s portfolio by reviewing various maintenance reports, and loans generated throughout the credit union for compliance with documentation procedures, underwriting guidelines, and board policies. Informs the Risk Manager or Supervisor of results/findings on a weekly basis.

 

?  ?  Proactively supports corporate goals through maintaining effective collections procedures on fraud accounts.

 

?  ?  Proceeds with collections of fraud accounts in a prompt, professional manner. 

 

?  ?  Adheres to all applicable state and federal laws as well as internal policies and procedures.

 

?  ?  Performs various internal testing, development, and training of system enhancements, modifications, etc.

 

?  ?  Monitors various software programs for timely response to alerts and alarms.

 

?  ?  Utilizes physical security system to order access cards, provide access to locations, to identify unusual activity and record film for incident prosecution.

 

?  ?  Conducts audits of branches and other departs to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

 

?  ?  Other duties as assigned.
