Securities Operations Team Leader

Responsible for assignment of work to the securities operations support team. Provides input into the performance management process. Monitors daily production ensuring the timeliness of client products, reports, or services. Performs the work of the unit, serving as backup where volume or absence warrants. Completes status/exception reports for management regarding security transaction processing.

 

Major duties:

?  Assigns tasks to the securities operations support staff. Organizes the work, sets short-term priorities, monitors all activity, and ensures timely and accurate completion of the work.

?  Provides input into the performance management process and staffing decisions.

?  Assesses security operations daily/weekly for the proper prioritization of work. Prepares an on-going schedule of assignments, noting deadlines and status. Reassigns staff resources to meet deadlines.

?  Performs the work of the unit, serving as backup where volume or absence warrants.

?  Reviews various security instruments, ensuring data is accurately recorded. Informs team members of errors uncovered in review process and instructs staff on correction of problems.

?  Works with client and staff in own unit and other areas regarding questions, problems, or special procedures relating to the processing of securities.

?  Ensures that security processing procedures are kept updated and current for the unit, communicating changes to appropriate areas.

?  Maintains technical knowledge of securities operations in order to resolve unusual and complex problems.

?  Provides on-going communication with manager regarding production status and staff performance.

?  Prepares management, government, and/or status reports regarding security transaction processing.

 

 

Knowledge/skills:

?  Knowledge of the day to day security operations, usually acquired through formal training or experience, is required to review security instruments and to monitor workflow

?  Leadership and organizational skills are needed to prioritize assignments and provide feedback to staff

 

Experience Required: Minimum 3 years of security operations experience.
