Position Summary: Responsible for ensuring the Network infrastructure (Wide Area Network, Local Area Network, VPN and Voice) is available during production hours. Design and recommend network architecture, install and support network infrastructure components including switches, routers, servers, PBX?s, Video Conferencing Units, structured cablings systems, firewalls, CSU/DSU?s, smart jacks and modems. Develop processes to monitor and respond to incidents and makes recommendations to ensure business continuity.
Responsible for ensuring the security of proprietary information that resides on network based systems and contained within applications and databases. Will deploy and manage technology that monitors and reacts to security threats initiated from both inside and outside the bank. Recommend, implement and maintain appropriate data security systems configurations, evaluate and install systems and tools and develops processes to monitor and respond to security incidents. Working as a team, this individual will take a lead role in working with other Risk Management personnel to identify and resolve areas of technology and operational risk. Provide on-call support for potential, suspected or confirmed security threats outside of normal business hours.
Qualifications: Knowledge of electronics, diagnostic processes, network configurations and modeling at a level normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelors degree in electronics, communications or some other closely related area in order to understand how to diagnose and resolve problems and to be able to ensure the reliability of the network and to be able to develop and maintain security configurations.
Seven (7) to Ten (10) years of hands-on experience in an engineering capacity, supporting a large campus and wide area networks in order to acquire hands-on knowledge in designing/maintaining transport technologies including DS1, DS3, OC3 OC48, SONET, PtoP, Frame Relay, MPLS, ISDN, Ethernet, Wireless LAN, Wireless WAN, structured cabling,, dial-up, TCP/IP, VoIP, VoFR, and IP Telephony. Seven (7) to Ten (10) years (or more) security administration/risk management, both in a centralized and decentralized environment in order to acquire a hands on knowledge of security incident and problem management as well a familiarity with security monitoring tools, the security benefits of various types of hardware and SOX requirements. Working experience in CISSP or CISM, Checkpoint and Cisco with appropriate certifications. Prior experience in a banking environment preferred.
Strong analytical skills in order to be able to evaluate network transport technologies, conduct technology gap analysis, diagnose complex problems, make both short and long-term recommendations appropriate to the support business requirements, conduct security audits and to install and maintain complex security equipment, develop strategies in support of business requirements and to be able to effectively manage incident and resolve problems. Strong communication skills in order to be able to express complex technical concepts effectively, develop relationships and manage service levels with vendors and to prepare detailed documentation, reports, presentations and recommendations. Must be able to work with people from many different disciplines. The ability to manage time and projects effectively, on time, and within budget constraints and to work independently is required.
