Small Business Banker

As a Small Business Banker with U.S. Bank, you will: Be responsible for meeting or exceeding assigned sales goals through Outside Sales, Incidental Activity to Outside Sales, and Other Activities. Contribute to the profitability and growth of Business Banking by building, developing, and managing new and expanded client relationships with small business customers, defined as companies with annual revenues of up to $5 million. Consult with customers and prospect about their financial goals and needs and identifies and promote U.S. Bancorp products and services to best meet those needs. Actively cross-sell appropriate banking products to new and existing customers and refer clients to other U.S. Bancorp areas for additional needs. Build, develop, and maintain profitable lending and deposit relationships with new and existing customers. Consult with customers and prospect at their place of business in order to understand their current business practices and identify their financial goals and needs. Develop and promote U.S. Bancorp products and services to best meet the business and personal needs of the customers and the Bank. Contribute to the growth of a profitable loan portfolio by originating applications for all types of small business loans. Gather, analyze and discuss credit and financial information for determination of credit quality and appropriateness of bank products and services at the customer?s place of business. Proactively cross-sell products and services and capitalizes on opportunities to expand business. Actively refers clients to other U.S. Bancorp areas for additional needs. Represent the bank at various civic and community functions to further enhance U.S. Bank?s image and develop additional business. Partner with branch employees to develop, communicate, and implement the sales strategy in order to meet/exceed business objectives, and exchange leads/referrals. Conduct joint outside sales calls with branch employees at the prospect?s place of business. Develop and manage custom sales and marketing plans. Develop sales activity plan with input and approval from manager. Tailor approach and products promoted to best fit each customer?s unique financial situation. Be responsible for overseeing and ensuring accurate and timely documentation preparation. Oversee loan closing and servicing activities. Refer customers to branch members for ongoing account maintenance of the overall customer relationship. Address and resolve customer concerns to maintain valued customer relationships. Actively ensure compliance with the U.S. Bank Code of Ethics and all Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, information security and suspicious activity reporting requirements, policies and procedures. Actively participate in any required corporate and business line training in these areas. Follow account opening procedures and understand and follow internal suspicious activity referral requirements and processes. Actively work with customers to understand each customer's normal account activity, as appropriate for this position. While we expect that you?ll possess a strong basic skill set, including excellent communication and people skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team or independently, we also require: Strong sales, relationship management, business development, and analytical skills. A thorough level of knowledge of credit administration, analysis, and credit policy/procedure. That you understand and articulate Business Banking strategies and philosophy. A bachelor?s degree or equivalent is typical. Zero to three years? work experience is typical.
