Special Assets Officer - (CH11411)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Responsible for the management of a portfolio of open, adversely graded commercial credit relationships for the purpose of preserving loan principal, collecting interest and avoiding a loss. Improves the quality of the portfolio through negotiating satisfactory repayment schedules, obtaining additional collateral and/or restructuring credit facilities, as appropriate.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

Actively manages a portfolio of between 50 - 60 adversely graded commercial credits.
Develops action plans and updates to Watch Reports on managed credits.
Responsible for OREO and recovery efforts on charged off loans as needed.
Assists Commercial Loan Officers with collection of past due commercial credits, workout activities and developing workout action plans.
Work closely with attorneys and other service providers on lawsuits and bankruptcies.
Interfaces with Loan Operations to aid Lenders with loan maintenance and documentation issues.
Evaluates risk and loss potential in Lender portfolios as assigned.


REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

4 year degree in a business related field, preferred
Excellent PC skills with an emphasis on MS Word and Excel, mainframe applications.
Superior written and oral communication skills.
Ability to travel for extended periods.
Must be able to successfully pass credit check, criminal background check, drug screening, and reference check.
