GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under minimal supervision, performs a wide variety of over-the-counter financial services to assist customers in accordance with Branch policies and procedures.  Sells products and services to customers.  Seeks supervision and resources as situation demands.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Opens new accounts, accesses customer accounts to process on-line and off-line transactions and corrections (e.g. mortgage payments, deposits, withdrawals and check cashing).

? Answers routine customer inquiries regarding account status, interest and terms provisions, World policies and additional products and services available.

? Actively and effectively promotes products and services to customers in support of individual and branch sales goals.

? Answers customer correspondence, issues ATM cards, opens and closes safe deposit boxes.

? Establishes retirement accounts and overdraft protection, processes collection drafts, handles lost passbooks and savings loans.

? Audits cash boxes, negotiable items, safe deposit boxes, and legal files; processes escheat safe deposit boxes and savings accounts, wire transfers, currency transaction and customer incidents reports.

? Handles all ATM functions including issuing, replacing, reissuing and processing dispute claims and deposit balancing.

? Acts as Vault Teller for the branch.

? Maintains accurate records of all transactions.

? Balances cash drawer and transaction totals in comparison to computer records daily.

? Assists in preparing reports necessary for branch balancing and operations, including Branch Comment Reports, and record changes/file maintenance.

? Assists in maintaining branch environment in accordance with Savings guidelines.

? Attends and completes appropriate savings training and Computer Based Training.

? Operates a variety of office equipment including personal computers, copy machines, fax machines, 10-key adding machines, shredders and check imagers.

? May be required to make exceptions to company policy under limited circumstances.

? Performs other duties as assigned.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

 

High school diploma or equivalent required.

 

Effective performance as a Customer Service Specialist and successful completion of Senior Customer Service Specialist training OR 1-2 years prior banking or retail supervisory experience.

 

Ability to understand corporate philosophy and meet customer service and sales expectations.

 

Ability to understand and conform to security procedures and requirements.

 

Good communication skills.

 

Basic PC skills.

 

Basic reading, writing and arithmetic abilities.
