MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

.

Preparation of consolidated income tax returns? detailed analysis of accounts to determine proper tax treatment for items included on income tax returns. Prepare detailed workpapers for outside accountants review. Research tax issues as they arise to determine proper tax treatment. Prepare actual forms for filing income tax returns. Review other filings prepared by outside vendor or accounts payable.

 

 

Review of Payroll semimonthly and foreign payroll monthly ? review changes performed by payroll clerk to determine US payroll accuracy. All documents received from either Benefits, HR are reviewed. Review outside vendor preparation of foreign payroll.

 

 

Analyze accounts ? Analyze all tax accounts in general ledger system, Great Plains

 

 

Assist with tax exams with various agencies ? Direct tax controversy audits with external agencies. This includes preparation, analysis and research required to facilitate audit requests and challenges. Respond to document requests as needed. Assemble documentation.

 

Manage tax notices ? Correspond in a timely manner on income tax matters. Review response by payroll service for payroll notices.

 

Special projects - . Assess and rate all required controls and objectives assigned to tax and payroll areas within the COSO framework for Sarbanes-Oxley in the RCTS system as well as identify and resolve any SOX Action items noted in those areas.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
