Essential Functions
Responsible for the administration, production and leadership of the KeyBank Real Estate Capital (KBREC) Loan Documentation & Collateral & Exception Management Team, a segment of the KeyBank Real Estate Capital Loan Origination Specialty Unit.
Manages staff and all functions required for Loan Set-up and Documentation on Bank's Systems; delegates and empowers decision making appropriately and instills accountability for individual and team results
Manages staff in processing accurate, timely loan system (LoanIQ) input and assisting in creating, managing and implementing procedures for same.
Proactively identifies and resolves risk management and client service issues, requiring interaction with clients, third parties, sales staff and management; ensures appropriate balance between service and risk mitigation
Responsible for ensuring the level of service and data quality is of optimum quality while continually practicing process improvement in tandem with Continuous Improvements philosophies and the KeyBank Real Estate Capital Services culture.
Recruits, hires and develops staff associates needed for strong, reliable infrastructure; provides learning environment, diversity, productivity and quality standards and recognition/career growth to staff.
Responsible for assisting KeyBank Real Estate Capital?s Loan Origination Specialty Unit Manager with the development and implementation of process, procedures, training, recognition, audits, reporting, etc.
Manage projects including planning, implementation, workflow, training, oversight, reporting, etc.
Professionally represents division in meetings with Management and internal and external clients.
Responsible for managing process and procedures to ensure satisfactory audit/exam results (including C-Cap audits), no material findings (measurement); timely execution of action plans, if any.
Responsible for the implementation of Compliance Procedures and diligent follow-up to ensure staff is informed and executing procedures as directed (i.e. Corporate Information Security, Account Screening Questions and Business Privacy Policy)
Marginal Functions
Cross-trains with Loan Documentation Specialists, LoanIQ Specialists and DDA Specialists and other Loan Servicing functions
Required Skills
4-year college degree or equivalent commercial real estate business experience.
Proven experience leading or supervising an operational team within commercial real estate (all commercial loans).
Strong knowledge of construction loan financing including underwriting, risk management and mitigation, loan closing and portfolio administration
Strong solution-oriented and problem solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to drive multiple parties and processes in a high volume environment; perform in a demanding environment with time sensitive transactions
Experience working with commercial real estate loan accounting systems
Strong solution-oriented and problem solving skills
Ability to exercise good judgment in addressing exceptions and non- standard situations
Detail-oriented
Demonstrated success in being part of a team environment
Aptitude for analysis, systems and mathematics
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with commercial real estate loan documentation
Familiarity with Loan systems, preferably Loan IQ as well as ancillary systems that provide support to the REC lending process
PC proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
