Trading floor support (LAN & Market Data)

Position: Trading floor support position at a large bank in mid town Manhattan.

This is a permanent, full-time?position.

?

The ideal candidate will have trading floor experience managing LAN connectivity issues as well as with market data support. This is a hands-on technical position.

Duties:

Perform LAN troubleshooting, diagnostics, research, evaluation and documentation of various LAN and data communications solutions and alternatives. Develop and implement solutions for file servers, bridges, gateways and fax servers. Provide technical analysis and consultation on issues regarding LAN connectivity and operability. Coordinate the installation of equipment, lines and software necessary to meet the client areas LAN requirements in the most efficient and cost effective manner. Provide support and troubleshoot issues within a PC Blade Environment. Participate in on-site training of LAN administrators in client areas and provides network and PC hardware support for the client areas. Monitor network operations, identifies and reports deviations and malfunctions.

Requirements: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and at least four, typically six or more years experience in PC/LAN Desktop Support, installation, and operation, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Requires sufficient knowledge of Market Data Products which would include but not limited to Bloomberg, Reuters, Thomson, Sungard and Citrix Client Solutions. Should be familiar with supporting Order Entry Systems such as Redi Plus, J-Trader, ISE Click, MM2 and Instinet. Should have experience with Implementing and Supporting a Windows XP Environment. Prior experience with Personal Digital Assistants such as Blackberry and Palm devices. Experience with supporting PC Blade Environment is a Plus. Will have knowledge of Various Microsoft Office Suite Products. Excellent consultative and communication skills, analytical ability, judgment, and the ability to work effectively with client and IT management, staff, consultants and vendors.

Hours: Mon - Fri, 8:00am - 5:00pm
