Trust Investment Manager

Position Summary

Primarily responsible for designing and modifying investment portfolios, making investment recommendations, buying and selling securities through brokers, and providing investment guidance and education to the trust department staff and advisors.

 

Essentail Job Functions

 Designs investment portfolios on behalf of new trust department prospects by reviewing existing assets and information collected from prospects.  Assets may include mutual funds, stocks, taxable bonds municipal bonds and insurance products.

 Develops investment policies as needed; reviews existing investment policies on a regular basis and makes recommendations for revisions as needed.

 Communicates with high net worth clients and prospects to discuss investment portfolios and investment decisions.

 Communicates with field advisors to gather information on prospects and clients, answer questions and provide feedback on investment decisions and account performance.

 Oversees Bank compliance issues on behalf of the Trust Department.  Maintains current knowledge of banking regulations to insure that Trust Department complies with regulations, both operationally and administratively.

 Continually analyzes all assets that are under management of trust department and investigates potential trust department investment vehicles.  Responsible for making buy/sell recommendations on securities such as mutual funds, stocks, taxable bonds, municipal bonds and insurance products.

 

Minimum Qulaifications

 

? 4 year college degree in Accounting or Finance required

? 5+ years of experience in the investment arena working with mutual funds, stocks and bonds

? CFP or CFA certification required

? Licenses as required by SEC (currently Series 65) or NASD.  Although other licenses are not required, the knowledge that is necessary for those licenses a plus

? 3 - 5+ years of investment analysis and portfolio development experience

? Previous public speaking experience required
