VP, Senior Programmer Analyst

An International Bank is seeking a Senior Programmer Equities Analyst. Required college grad with 7 years experience in application development and support. 5-8 years experience in Capital Markets (back-office data processing). Sungard Phase 3 is strongly preferred, must have experience or strong knowledge in Prime Brokerage and/or Brokerage Compliance groups. Hands on development experience with a combination of .NET (ASP, VB, C is a must, Java, C++, Perl are pluses, SQL Server (preferred), Sybase and Oracle. Able to work well under pressure, excellent verbal/written communication skills, self-motivated, energetic, detail oriented, able to work with minimum supervision. Function: Support for operations and trading areas, focus will be in support of post trading processing interfaces facilitating straight through processing and reporting in support of correspondent clearing and prime brokerage business lines. Design, develop, and implement tactical and strategic systems in support of operations, compliance and prime brokerage business requirements. Able to liaise between project managers operations and IT staff to support pre/post implementation development of projects.  Duties: conduct complex studies of existing systems/methods to determine ways to automate them via electronic data processing, manual procedures or PC products. Gather all essential information by interview and observation. Evaluate procedural/programming systems required to operate and support programs and systems. Study affected functions and analyze existing procedures, forms, files and memos. Prepare detailed instructions for assigned programming systems or components enabling qualified personnel to proceed with implementation. Prepare detailed program specifications for IT support to produce programs. Code programs using Visual Basic, Visual Basic Script, ASP, .NET, Access Basic, Java &SQL. Test/document all programs/applications. Support data processing in post implementation. Perform system admin and maintenance for systems. Interface with vendors on technical issues. Support/administer development of SQL databases. Understand bank?s IT policies as defined. 24x7 after hour call support is required, including end-of-day batch support.
