Vice President of Marketing and Planning

American First located in La Habra, CA is seeking a VP of Marketing and Planning to participate on the Executive Management Team. This leader is responsible for all elements of strategic planning, marketing, and quality initiatives. The marketing function includes conception, development and implementation of promotional ideas, business development, basic research, and quality service management. The VP of Marketing and Planning also serves as the credit union?s legislative liaison and is primarily responsible for public relations. This dynamic individual will direct the selection, training and implementation of the credit union's strategic planning and provide oversight, direction, evaluation, and management to the development and execution of brand marketing and public relations campaigns. The VP Shares responsibility for positive growth in member product usage and profit contribution and oversees product profitability analysis of existing and new products.

 

The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background and more than 10 years of marketing experience within a credit union or banking environment. Previous management experience required.  This individual should have the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively, have previous branding/merchandising experience and excellent communications skills. QUALIFICATIONS-

The following qualifications are preferred to successfully accomplish this position:

 

A. Bachelor?s degree or higher, preferably in Marketing or Business Administration; minimum 10 years related experience with progressive responsibility in strategically developing the marketing function; understanding of all core marketing functions; product development, and advertising..

B. Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

C. Knowledge of demonstrated ability to implement effective people, time, project, and organizational management practices.

D. Ability to apply the principles and practices of effective marketing theory.

E. Ability to understand and interface with current and developing technology.

F. Ability to effectively manage and ensure the implementation of strategic plans/direction and departmental goals.

G. Ability to function with and influence top executives, both internally and externally.

H. Ability to oversee and direct AVP level associate.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

A. Leads effort to develop, measure, and accomplish credit union long-term objectives and strategies.

B. Responsible for strategic marketing and overall marketing effectiveness for the entire credit union, and continuous improvement.

C. Responsible for defining and accomplishing marketing function long-term objectives and for assuring marketing area long-term financial viability and protection of assets.

D. Responsible for overseeing the quality initiative function, other quality objectives and ensuring results.

E. Share responsibility for positive growth in member product usage and profit contribution.

F. Responsible for the availability of needed products and services.  Oversee analysis of the profit contribution of new and existing products.

G. Manage the credit union?s strategic planning processes, coordinate and lead the planning conferences. Assure credit union-wide input and commitment to the development of strategic plans.

H. Lead public relations efforts by communicating with media representatives.

I.  Develop and support community programs intended to build rapport with Orange County residents.

J.   Lead political and legislative efforts made on behalf of the credit union movement; interact with trade associates, state and federal legislators; act as credit union spokesperson on legislative issues.
