Job Description: R&D Director, Materials Testing, Analysis, and Characterization (MTAC)

Recruiting experienced lab director to provide technical and functional leadership to team of 45+ scientists and technicians responsible for the test, analysis, and characterization of materials and components for minimally invasive medical devices. Key areas of focus include metallography, polymer/resin characterization, and tissue analysis. Experience in cGMP/GLP lab environment and compliant laboratory management systems of high value. Key equipment includes SEM/FESEM, AFM, FTIR, DSC, TGA, DMTA, GPC, ICP, GC-MS, LC-MS, GC-TOF and other equipment. Desired candidate should have experience with method development and transfer as well as management of contract labs. Collaboration with cross-functional departments and multi-site organizations developing balloons, stents, catheters, wires, and drug-eluting stents is of highest priority.

Education: BS minimum, MS and/or PhD degree preferred
Years experience: 15 minimum (8 minimum in management position)
