17068 Sr. Process Development Engineer (Six-Sigma)

Job Description: Primary Responsibilities Provide mentoring and training to process development engineers and technicians on 6-Sigma DMAIC & DFSS methodologies.

Other Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement assembly processes such as: laser welding, crimping and automated inspection.
2. Assesses process capabilities, prioritizes process improvement opportunities, and implements process improvements on multiple and moderately complex processes.
3. Applies technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures, tooling and/or automation.
4. Executes the functional deliverables associated with new Product Development.
5. Prepares and presents technical data and recommendations at technical reviews.
6. Writes technical reports, validation protocols and reports applicable to new processes.
7. Ensures proper documentation is completed to meet quality systems requirements.
8. Provides Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input to the engineering print package.
9. May serve as core team member or extended team member on new product projects.

Qualifications

* Must have applicable experience in one or more of the following technology areas: polymers and polymer joining, development of assembly equipment, process development or manufacturing engineering.
* Must be able to show results of effective problem solving through the use of statistical, engineering and analytical tools. Experience with 6-Sigma or DFSS methodologies a must.
* Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work well as a member or leader of a highly interactive and dynamic team. This requires good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
* Candidates must have strong leadership, communication and creativity skills
* Minimum 5 years technical/professional experience.
* Experience with medical device or pharmaceutical process development is preferred.
* BS required, MS desired in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, statistics, biomedical or related science field.
* Experience training and/or mentoring other technical staff.
* Six-Sigma Black Belt certification or prior mentoring experience highly desired.
* Some domestic and international travel is required.
