ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, MECHANICAL ENGINEERING - MEDICAL DEVICE

A public company, our client is a leader in molecular diagnostics with proprietary DNA and RNA tests focused on women's cancers and infectious diseases.  Rapidly emerging as a standard of practice in cervical cancer screening, their test aids healthcare professionals in identifying women who are most at risk of having or developing cervical cancer.  Additionally, the product portfolio includes DNA tests for the detection of sexually transmitted infections, including chlamydia and gonorrhea, as well as tests for blood viruses. Products are marketed in more than 40 countries worldwide.

 

The Associate Director of Mechanical Engineering will lead the design and development of all mechanisms and plastics consumables for the in-vitro diagnostic instrument systems.Included will be:
Support of new product development, documentation, and testing Full life-cycle product support may also be required.
Outsourced resource identification, negiotiation and management.
Requirement definition, mechanical architecture, mechanical design, design documentation and reliability testing for instrument systems and high volume plastic consumables.
Development must be compliant with FDA QSR requirements.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 
Minimum 10 years experience developing and managing the design of in-vitro (IVD) diagnostic instrumentation including robotics and plastics.
Experience if management of out sourced resources is necessary.
Bachelor?s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree.
Excellent communication, organization and team orientation skills.
