ASSOCIATE - MANUFACTURING - DOWNSTREAM PURIFICATION

AppTec is one of the premier contract organizations offering biopharmaceutical manufacturing and testing services.  We are located in a new facility in Philadelphia at the Naval Business Center.

 As an  Associate in our Manufacturing Department?s Downstream Purification group, you will be responsible for performing all activities within the production facility to produce biopharmaceutical bulk and finished products.  Duties include: cleaning, weighing, mixing and process monitoring.  Equipment operations include: Filtration Devices, Chromatography Systems, Tangential Flow Filtration Systems, and general lab equipment.  You will remain current regarding Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) guidelines and develop / modify production methods to fully address compliance issues.  In addition, you will write and/or revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), material specifications and client Master Batch Records.

 

BA/BS in Biology, Chemistry or related discipline, or equivalent training and/or experience is required.  You must be able to write effectively and be able to record data accurately and legibly, have good manual dexterity and be able to stand for long periods.  Must be able to work 4, 10 hour work days from Wednesday through Saturday.  In addition, you must be available for extended days and/or shift work as needed.

 

Knowledge and experience in aseptic processing techniques and understanding of cGMP requirements for a commercial scale manufacturing facility is preferred.  Experience using small scale chromatography columns (BPG, Index, Chromaflow) for product capture and purification, including column cleaning, sanitization and performance testing is highly desirable.  Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Unicorn software is desirable.
