Analytical Chemist - (PM)

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:



 Provide technical leadership over analytical activities including data acquisition, interpretation and relevance. Responsible for understanding and advancing in-house knowledge of company analytical requirements. Responsible for analytical methods development and material characterization in support of company projects. Responsible for direct supervision and management of personnel as needed. Responsible for managing samples submitted for analysis, analytical system resources and instrumental maintenance. Maintain compliance to all Regulatory Standards for sample and personnel safety. Recommend the addition or expansion of analytical methods and instrumentation. Assure the technical soundness of analytical methods and data. Provide technical presentation support and consultation to marketing. Prepare project requests detailing proposed work costs and timetables. Analyze and translate experimental results into design criteria. Collect and analyze information on competitive products. Assist in developing budgets. Outside testing contract and specification development. Willingness to research, development and implement new analytical methodologies. Prepare reports and document progress with senior management. Perform other related duties as required.

 

Qualifications:

 



Masters or Doctoral degree (preferred) in Analytical Chemistry with 0-5+ years experience. Demonstrated problem solving skills. Good technical, leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and manage concurrent responsibilities, such as resources, samples submitted for testing and personnel. Experience with multiple analytical techniques such as UV/vis, FTIR, HPLC, GC, TMA, and DSC. Chromatographic method development experience preferred.
