SciTegic, a wholly owned subsidiary of Accelrys, Inc., designs, develops, and markets data analysis and mining software to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. This position will require working closely with customers to manage and support SciTegic's data pipelining software at customer sites. In addition, this role will involve providing scientific support for the Accelrys Life Science product line. Working together with the SciTegic and Accelrys sales team, this individual will give technical and scientific presentations to prospective customers. This position will also track major technical issues discovered by customers, working closely with the development staff to ensure the issues are resolved and that an acceptable resolution is communicated back to the customer. The position involves working with assigned customers to develop and deliver specific, customized training courses that fit the needs of a specific group of users.  A unique aspect of this position is acting as a technical account manager, blending technical expertise with exposure to sales processes and tasks. For example, the person in this position will work with assigned account managers to follow up on leads, create informational seminars and marketing programs for prospects, and handle aspects of the sales process.  The position offers an exciting and unique mix of job responsibilities that virtually eliminates professional boredom!

 

Qualified candidates must possess a BS in Life Sciences or a related field. Outstanding interpersonal skills and willingness to travel up to 50% is also required. A successful candidate will be a high-energy professional demonstrating exemplary customer service, project management, and communication skills. A science background and familiarity working with scientific information systems is required.  Some development/scripting experience is desirable as is experience with software packages used in pharmaceutical and biotech industry.
