Job Title: Associate Director - Import/Export Logistics
Group Info: Be part of the Global Procurement Group at their corporate location consisting of 6 senior professionals supporting 6 domestic and international sites with 10,000 + people.
Note: This is a senior level position, but will not supervise any direct reports. This will need working on cross functional teams at corporate and site import export groups.
Summary:
Responsibility for ensuring Site compliance with all Corporate, Division, US Customs, FDA, USDA and other applicable import/export trade regulations. Development of Site policy and procedural guidelines. Review, oversight and audit assessment of all Site import/export operations. Participate in the development and deployment of Site/Division compliance training programs
The position work load is split evenly 25 % each for the 4 categories below:
Develop Best Practices for the group.
Risk Assessment and management at the site.
Internal Interface with peers, internal customers and line managers.
External Interface with vendors, partners, consultants etc.
Job Description:
? Provide clear leadership, expertise and guidance across the Site on compliance with all relevant import/export regulations and requirements.
? Ensure Site compliance with Division/Corporate policies, US Customs and FDA import/export regulations.
? Serve as Site liaison with Global Head in the formulation of import/export compliance strategies.
? Ensure periodic assessment of Site import/export operations across all relevant PGRD Zones and Lines.
? Serve as point of accountability and import/export interface with Global Head and federal agencies including US Customs, FDA and USDA.
? Participate in the development and deploy appropriate, effective training to all Site groups.
? Ensure Site compliance with all import/export record keeping requirements.
? Participate in the development and deployment of applicable information management and/or technology solutions.
? Ensure alignment of Global sourcing strategies and Site Procurement initiatives with import/export compliance strategies.
? Maintain knowledge of current import/export regulations and pending legislation.
? Exercise informed appropriate judgment in assessing compliance risk and priority of actions.
? Delivers concise, thoughtful written and oral recommendations.
? Ensures clear and comprehensive assessments of Site compliance with Division/Corporate import/export policies and procedures.
Candidate Must Have:
A BS degree in a related field.
10 ? 20 years of professional experience.
3 + years of relevant experience in Import Export Logistics and customs compliance in large organizations like manufacturing, R/D, university, government agencies, consulting ? accounting firms etc.
2 years of supervision experience with direct reports, consultants, vendors, partners, etc.
Excellent Oral and written communication and people skills.
Candidate Nice To Have:
An advanced Master?s, MBA or custom?s house broker?s license.
Familiarity with U.S. Customs and FDA procedures.
Working knowledge of the ABI, ACE and OASIS computer systems.
Some legal background in Import Export logistics.
Some expertise in Export Regulations
Previous experience in a commercial brokerage environment helpful
Some pharmaceutical Industry experience
The personal skill set emphasis is for people skills ? 50 % and technical skills ? 50%
