Job Title: Associate Scientist II     Department: QA/QC

 

Reporting to: QA/QC Manager    Location: San Diego, CA

 

Job Summary: The Associate Scientist II position will focus on releasing and testing products, raw materials and finished goods.  This person will also be involved in training new Quality Control personnel on general and specific Quality Control processes, requirements and techniques.

 

Skills: This person must have the skills necessary to: 1. Inspect and release raw materials and finished products. 2. Read and interpret data from vendors, which includes but is not limited to Certificates of Analysis. 3. Perform basic QC tests on materials as required.  4. Adhere to safety and housekeeping rules.  5. Write and/or revise SOPs and work instructions.  6.  Assist in training other QC personnel on general and specific QC processes, requirements and techniques. 7.  Perform all ERP software functions necessary to input labor and/or material costs to products and support the disposition products. 8. Compile batch history records with QC results.

 

Education:  To qualify for this classification, an individual must possess a BS or BA in a life science or related field. MS or MA in a life science or related field preferred.

 

 Additional Requirements:

? Must be able to see and manipulate small objects.

? Must be able to lift 25 pounds and perform repetitive pipetting motions.

? Must be familiar with PC and general lab equipment.
