Associate/Sr. Associate Scientist

Job Summary Description: The selected individuals each will become an instrumental member of a group applying cellular, molecular, and biochemical approaches to cancer drug discovery. The group works as part of a larger team of biologists and chemists with a combined goal of identifying and nominating molecules suitable for clinical development. Associate Scientists/Sr. Associate Scientists are expected to assist in multiple aspects of the cellular, biochemical and molecular characterization of targets and the evaluation of small molecule modulators of those targets. Candidates will be responsible for working as part of a project team(s) to meet projected goals in a timely manner.

Major Responsibilities
? Engineering, characterization, development and running of cell based and/or biochemical assays
? Cellular, biochemical and molecular characterization of small molecule modulators of cancer drug discovery targets.
? Maintain clear records of experimental work
? Quantitative analysis of data and follow up on results
? Organize, report and communicate results from experiments to the project teams.
? Keep own knowledge current regarding appropriate techniques and scientific advances in area of work
? Maintain a safe work area and actively adopt safe laboratory practices


Responsibilities

Minimum Requirements
? BS/MS in cellular, molecular biology and 2-3 years experience in the running of cell based or biochemical assays
? Demonstrated proficiency in data processing or data management
? Excellent communication skills
? Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment

Preferred Background
? Cellular and molecular biology required, biochemistry experience a plus
? Familiarity with Cancer Biology and drug discovery
