BIOSTATISTICIAN

Job Responsibilities:

Provides full statistical services for clinical research programs at ConvaTec.
Provides input on protocol design and performs subsequent statistical
analysisand data interpretation assures that appropriate statistical methods
are used. Collaborates with members of the clinical research department, data
management and programming on data capture and reporting. Plans, reviews and
conducts meta analyses when needed. Supports creation of publication material
from a statistical perspective. Provides statistical information to management
to aid in decision making on the development of new products and promotional
campaigns. Strives for continuous improvement in the use of statistical methods
and procedures. Has input into coding specifications, data entry rules and the
data displays. Develops or approves programming to support statistical analyses
verifies data and programming accuracy and validity.

Job Requirements/Education:

Sound knowledge of applied statistics MS degree required, PhD a plus.
Significant relevant experience with clinical trial data. Proven experience
interpretingand writing results of clinical research studies and demonstrated
ability to articulate results to all levels of management. Experience
consulting with research personnel including clinical researchers and journal
reviewers. Firm working knowledge of SAS software. Mastery of statistical
research methodologies. Understanding of clinical trial processes and
regulatory policies impacting data reporting in the healthcare industry.
Ability to influence management in decision making and study results. Exposure
to scientific and marketing functional areas within organizations. Use of
statistical data to drive global medical marketing decisions and initiatives.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
