Bioanalytical Chemistry Research Associate

Seeking a scientist to join a growing bioanalytical core group within the Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics Group (MAP) at Novartis Institute for Biomedical Research. The candidate should have experience in the quantitation of small molecule drugs in biological matrices. The candidate will work with other members in the group to implement and execute automated approaches to higher-throughput bioanalysis. In addition, the candidate will develop bioanalytical methods, and perform sample preparation and analysis.

Key responsibilities include:

development of LC-MS/MS methods to quantitate a broad range of analytes from biological samples

implementation of automated sample preparation and analysis solutions

execution of routine higher-throughput sample and data analysis

Qualifications
A successful candidate should have a BS with 5+ years or an MS with 3+ years of hands-on experience in developing and executing quantitative bioanalytical methods for small molecules. The candidate should be proficient with LC-MS/MS systems (e.g., Applied Biosystems, ThermoFinnigan), and have working knowledge of automated sample preparation systems (e.g., Tecan, Tomtec, Hamilton). Experience with programming of automated systems and/or in writing of macros, scripts, or programs is a plus. Strong collaboration and communication skills, both written and oral, and problem solving skills are required.

Education: BS/MS in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
