Calibration Technician/ Metrologist

Assigned to the Metrology Department to provide metrology support for manufacturing lines, plant facility equipment, R&D equipment, and new product support. Acceptability of the finished product, the outcome of an FDA, UK or other types of audits performed by outside agencies can be directly influenced by the calibrations this person performs. This individual is accountable for the [proper calibration and documentation of  plant TMDE (Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment).

 

Responsibilities:

* Primary responsibility is calibration of test and measuring instrumentation throughout the facility.  The technician must complete scheduled and unscheduled calibrations including documentation per company policies and guidelines.

* Knowledgable in the operation of production and facility equipment to the extent of performing proper calibration.

* Interaction with production, maintenance, and laboratory personnel to complete various calibration tasks.

* Interaction with outside resources to track status of externally calibrated instruments.

Support and assist Metrologists with instrumentation and systems troubleshooting.

 

 Requirements:

Minimum required experience, education, skills, knowledge and training:

* 4 years experience as a field/bench calibration technician or related experience in the test equipment field.

* Understand the uncertainties of a measurement and know what is necessary to compensate for those uncertainties as to provide the most accurate and precise measurement.

* Familiar with cGMPs, ISO, or ANSI standards.

* Good oral and written communication skills are required for this position.

* High School Diploma or equivalent.

* Knowledge of basic computer skills.

* Familiar with manufacturing processes and field instrumentation.

 

Prefered experience, education, skills, knowledge and training:

* Military or DOD schools such as PMEL, TMDE or specialized courses.

* AA/AS Electronics/Instrument Technical Degree is preffered
