Clinical Research Nurse-CPU

Job Summary NOTE: POSITION IS LOCATED IN PHILADELPHIA, PA NOT AT THE WILMINGTON, DE CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS.
A Clinical Research Nurse will input operational/ECG aspects to the protocol. Will plan and be responsible for all operational aspects e.g. the delivery, conduct, data collection /ECG transfer/analysis of multiple in-house clinical pharmacology studies run simultaneously to enable them to proceed in a well co-ordinated manner in accordance with the agreed protocol, with the safety of the volunteers being the primary concern.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
? The CRN will co-ordinate the care of the subjects at all times, will maintain knowledge and competence to assess and deal with medical emergencies as a nursing practitioner.
? The CRN will participate in and contribute into study working teams, will provide operational aspects into protocols and subject information sheets or ECG capture data and analysis. They will conduct and co-ordinate all study administrative and operational arrangements across the study, making sure they are managed effectively according to the protocol requirements.
? They will be responsible for the execution, collection and recording of high quality clinical data in accordance at all times with ICH/GCP/AZ global SOPs and the study protocol.
? The CRN will liaise with both internal and external personnel during the set up and conduct of studies
? Will co-ordinate the recruitment of subjects to the panel and to studies and be responsible for maintaining volunteer records/database ensuring confidentiality of medical information
? Participate in the training of new staff, updating of training for established staff, including the training of staff in the use of medical monitoring equipment


Responsibilities

Qualifications:
BS Nursing or MS Nursing professional preferred; Diploma RN will be considered depending on overall related professional experience in clinical research.
- Expereience with early development drug related research in a Clinical Pharmacology Unit, general Clinical Research Unit or in an academic setting or CRO.
-Must have experience in working as a clinical research nurse conducting Phase I studies over a wide variety of therapeutic areas.
-Knowledge of ICH and GCP gyuidelines
-Active Pennsylvania License or ability to obtain
-Computer literacy
-BLS/ACLS
-CPR certified
-Ability to travel intially to Europe for AZ CPU start up activities/training and occassional workshops.
