Director – API Sourcing

Primary Job Purpose:To develop and execute the company?s strategy for procurement of (API?s) Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients and Excipients.  This includes development of the organizational requirements, vendor selection, qualification, contract management, procurement and supply chain procedures.

Establish strategy for API & Excipients area followed by a plan to execute it with the focus on cost reductions and dual sourcing.Select API vendors based on developed strategy including vendor qualification and audits of potential suppliers.Manage API vendors including contract management, technical aspects, cost reduction, inventory position and customer service.Develop forward looking process to follow market trends.  Based on that intelligence, modify/adjust strategy and/or tactical plans Manage staff and utilize information systems at Par.

 

 

 

Education/Experience Requirements:

 MBA Degree required.Minimum 10 years experience within the pharmaceutical industry with a concentration in business development and supply chain.CPM and/or CPIM certification preferred.Strong working knowledge and skills with ERP system, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project.Effective communication skills to work professionally with internal and external personnel at all levels.Demonstrate strong analytical negotiation and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple complex projects and effectively utilize, supervise and train staff.Assertiveness and perseverance to overcome obstacles tactfully and effectively.Travel up to 30%.
