Director, Business Intelligence/Market Research

You will report to the Sr. Director, Market Research.  This extremely high profile and high impact position will direct all activities related to assimilating business and marketing intelligence for Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc.  Incumbent will have direct reports. Responsible for the development of forecasts for in-line and pipeline products. Requires thorough understanding of secondary data sources and ability to identify which resources are most appropriate for the needs of Amylin. Oversee the annual and ongoing situation analysis/diagnostics in support of brand plans.  Lead development and refinement of metrics for commercial organization and assume responsibility for reporting.

 

You must have a sound knowledge of marketed and pipeline products, of therapeutic markets, marketing activities and objectives. Ability to contribute to strategic direction for both marketed and in-line products is essential as well as work with a high degree of independence, plan, organize and implement multiple projects within time and budget constraints.  Demonstrated ability to interface well with senior management.

 

We require at least 8 years in the biopharmaceutical industry in marketing, sales, market analysis and/or market research.  Minimum 2 years experience in marketing analytics in biopharmaceutical industry required.  Consulting experience a plus. At least one year managing direct report(s) highly desirable. MBA or other advanced degree in fields such as Life Sciences, Economics, Statistics, Public Health or equivalent experience. Problem solving ? analytically rigorous, consultative approach.  Independently applies structured problem solving approaches to define, analyze and develop alternatives to business problem. Strong senior management presence/advanced presentation and communications skills.
