Director, Ligand Binding Assay

We are seeking a highly qualified, dynamic leader for the following position based in Kansas City:

 

Director, Ligand Binding Assay

 

Reporting to the Vice President, Bioanalytical Operations, the Director will oversee the scientific, regulatory compliance (GLP), and financial aspect of the Ligand Binding Assay laboratory operation.  Responsibilities include the start-up of the laboratory that will provide the following services:  immunochemistry?based assays for quantitative PK/TK analysis; cell-based assays; biomarker assays; and multiplex assays.  Will staff and train employees for all laboratory functions; ensures that the laboratory is fully equipped with necessary instrumentation; ensures the highest quality work is performed in terms of science and regulatory compliance; manages teams of scientists validating analytical methods and conducting analysis of drugs & metabolites in biological fluids according to protocol, SOP?s and written analytical procedures; interact with clients and project-related issues; oversees project costing, scheduling and tracking,; participates in expense budget preparation.

 

Qualifications include Ph.D. with 5+ years of related experience and 11+ years of management experience; or MS with 7+ years of related experience and11 years of management experience; or BS with 9+ year of related experience and 11+ years of management experience.  Degree must be in a life science area or chemical engineering. Laboratory experience must encompass all functions of the LBA lab. Excellent communication skills along with a customer service orientation is crucial; experience in a CRO setting highly desirable.
