St. Francis Medical Technologies is a privately-held company based in Alameda, Calif. engaged in the discovery, development, manufacturing and marketing of novel treatments for degenerative spinal disorders worldwide. In November 2005, St. Francis received FDA approval for the X STOP, the first FDA-approved interspinous process implant to treat Lumbar Spinal Stenosis (LSS), a degenerative spinal disorder that limits mobility. An estimated 2.3 million office visits are attributed to LSS annually. The X STOP provides a new option for spinal stenosis sufferers offering the safety of conservative care but the effectiveness of more invasive surgery.

A: Purpose and Scope:
The purpose of this position is to develop professional medical education curriculum for purposes of educating surgeons, allied health personnel, distribution and corporate personnel on the company and its products. This position requires an interface with all company functions, distributors, surgeon advisors, vendors and direct customers.
B: Responsibilities
Develop training programs and manage trade convention services to support the company?s corporate strategies. Direction will come from the VP of Marketing.
Specific responsibilities include:
Develop a process to maintain updated company/product information in the training programs.Forge and manage surgeon faculty relationships to support peer-to-peer training. Understand the technical and clinical nuances of the company?s products and services.Develop, direct and manage comprehensive sales training programs.Develop and manage methods for measuring training effectiveness and convention services functions.Plan, organize and direct all activities related to Regional Training Centers.Manage meeting and event planning personnel.Manage all aspects of planning, execution and follow up.
Job Requirements:
A. Education and Training
The candidate should have a four-year degree, as well as additional training in project management and problem-solving techniques. The candidate must demonstrate a measurable successful track record of success in sales and/or training within the medical device industry (preferably orthopedics).
B. Technical Requirements
A minimum of four years experience as a corporate trainer.
C. Managerial Experience
A minimum of 2 years management experience.
This position can be based outside of California.
