Director of Marketing

We are conducting a search for several senior level Marketing Directors. The opportunities are with a large, global manufacturer of healthcare products based in a major midwest suburb. The general responsibilities of these positions are highlighted below.

The Director of Marketing is responsible for the global management of the business segment. In this role the candidate will manage a team of upstream marketing individuals focused on the growth of the currently installed base and development of future products. About 50% of the Director?s time will be focused on general business issues and the other 50% on marketing activities.

The following are the key responsibilities of the Director:Have primary responsibility for the business leadership of the business product segment. This includes the management and growth of current products as well as interfacing with R&D and other functions to develop new products. Develop strategic plan and strategic marketing direction for product segment and ensure effective implementation of marketing strategies. Oversee development of product level marketing plans. Develop and implement division level worldwide product plans/multi- generational product roadmap across product lines. Provide marketing input into Business Development initiatives throughout evaluation. Create environment or need for customer and competitive intelligence data. Oversee product advisory boards and primary market research activities to develop next generation products and support branding/positioning efforts. Serve as a liaison between marketing, reimbursement and Government Affairs.

The key position requirements include:Candidate will have 8+ years in cross functional experience with at least 5 in marketing. An undergrad in a technical background with a MBA is preferred. Solid experience working in a matrix organization leading cross functional groups to drive product growth. Well developed strategic planning abilities and business acumen. Demonstrated track record in leading new product development projects to successful completion and leading experienced teams (internal and external resources). Strong ability to understand market trends, financial data, customer needs, and assess competitive intelligence data. Strong skills in the areas of pricing, reimbursement, and creative product/program development. Excellent leadership and communication skills to gain broad support of business efforts.
