District Sales Manager: Oncology (Southeast)
Genta Incorporated is an oncology focused biopharmaceutical company. If you are looking for a dynamic sales management opportunity where your efforts will improve the lives of cancer patients then this may be the opportunity for you. We are seeking candidates for the Southeast District. Ideally you will be located in the vicinity of Atlanta or Orlando, but we may also consider candidates near other major markets in Florida. We are also seeking experienced District Sales Managers in the following other districts:Mid-Atlantic (North & South), Northeast, South Central, Central, Great Lakes and Pacific.
Responsibilities:
? Effectively translate company strategy and business objectives into attainable and meaningful goals for the sales team.
? Recruit and hire Oncology Sales Specialists with diverse experience, and coordinate their training and integration into a high caliber sales team.
? Drive the business by effectively supporting Oncology Sales Specialists in achieving their objectives. Provide coaching and feedback in a manner that will enable career development.
? Maintain high personal and team standards for being able to effectively communicate clinical information and lead by example in staying current on new clinical developments.
? Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and thought leaders and leverage these relationships effectively. Establish and nurture strong relationships with external partners and Genta management. Effectively work with cross-functional departments including sales operations, marketing, national accounts and medical affairs.
? Manage all district activity to maximize attainment of forecasted sales goals and direct the district?s various sales activities, resources and budget. Review all expenses and reports and assure compliance with all company and regulatory guidelines.
? Monitor and react to sales and operations data to achieve optimal use of resources.
Qualifications:
? Bachelor?s degree; advanced degree and/or scientific background a plus.
? At least 8 ? 10 years of sales/marketing experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology arena, including three year?s district sales management experience.
? 3 ? 5 years of oncology sales experience including demonstrated ability to effectively lead and motivate sales professionals.
? Strong knowledge of the oncology marketplace and demonstrated ability to comfortably discuss relevant clinical information.
? Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
? Experience in managed care, hospital sales drug distribution channels, reimbursement, and developing/executing speaker programs.
Travel Requirements: 50-75% domestic travel
